2012 Overview
2012 has been a year of change and growth for OMA as our staff count grew to 62 across our offices in Benin, Ghana, and Togo, we handled a total of 1509 agency appointments and plans were finalised for the opening of our new office in Abidjan in the first quarter of next year.
Our operations showed continued growth despite a background of escalation of sea crime in the Bight of Benin, which has caused concern amongst tanker and African maritime operators in recent years. Governments in each country have been investing in anti-piracy measures and in Benin the navy acquired three frigates, a state-of-the-art fast patrol boat and have ordered two aircraft for delivery next year to assist in their anti piracy measures.
In October this year we were delighted to be appointed agents for Hapag-Lloyd in Ghana, under an arrangement with GAC. We now represent this leading global shipping line in Ghana, Benin and Togo and have a closer, stronger relationship with GAC as a result.
Securing clearing licences for our logistics operations along the coast this year has enabled us to offer a bespoke service with direct in-house control of goods through customs to delivery whether DDU or DDP, hazardous cargoes, cross border movements or cargo brokerage for commodities such as cocoa, cashew nuts or palm oil.

Looking Ahead
As a growing organisation we look forward to the challenges and opportunities that 2013 will bring to allow us to offer the best service for our clients. The key to our operation is the positive commitment of our teams in each office and 2013 will see a continuation of our professional development and training programme for all our staff.
