OMA Group has signed a Global Network Agency (GNA) agreement with global ship agency providers GAC for ports in Ghana, Togo and Benin, effective from 1 January 2013. The two companies have been working together to provide a range of shipping services since June 2010.
OMA is an established leader in agency and support services for port operations in West Africa, having started from its home port of Lome in Togo 30 years ago. In 2007, it expanded to other countries in the region, including Benin and Ghana, with a new office in the Ivory Coast opening in the first quarter of 2013.
Erland Ebbersten, GAC’s Group Vice President for Africa, Central Asia and Russia, notes that the corporate cultures of the two companies have many similarities, making the formation of the GAC-OMA alliance a natural addition to the GAC global network.
Gary Miller, OMA’s Managing Director, commented: “We are all excited by this opportunity and we look forward to adding value and developing both the GAC and OMA brands in West Africa in the years ahead.”
That’s great news
